The many generations of Sigma Gamma Rho women have certainly lived up to the organization's "Greater Service, Greater Progress" slogan. The sorority's legacy initially started on November 12, 1922, thanks to seven educators who dreamed of making a difference, and they certainly did. Seven years later, on December 30, 1929, it evolved into an officially incorporated national collegiate sorority at Butler University.
